OLS ships over 90,000 TEU per year, making it one of the leading overseas logistics providers in the west of Germany and continues to expand strongly, while the company is also successfully expanding its project logistics. The overseas logistics company OLS is repositioning itself and appointing 50-year-old Hans-Bernd Effing as an additional Managing Director and COO. Hans-Bernd Effing joined OLS in August 2020 and, as Director Operations, has played a key role in the new structure of OLS.

Hans-Bernd Effing was previously a manager and authorized signatory at Kühne + Nagel for 16 years and headed the largest inland sea freight export unit in Germany. Company founder Michael Lang (62) already sold his shares to his successor Navid Thielemann (36) in 2019 and left the company as Managing Director on December 31, 2021. However, Michael Lang will remain on the OLS management board as a consultant. "I am proud to have developed the company into the leading overseas logistics provider in the west of Germany over the past 7 years with Michael Lang and to have already set the course for a successful future for OLS with the acquisition of shares in 2019. I am also very pleased that I was able to win Hans-Bernd Effing, an absolute sea freight expert, for OLS and that I can now continue to successfully develop OLS with him as Managing Director. The future of OLS will have a strong focus on sustainable growth, and I will continue to focus more on strategic issues," says Navid Thielemann.

OLS launched a new project department back in 2019 and recruited Alessandro Fiorani (52), a manager with extensive project expertise. Fiorani was previously Head of the Western Region Project Department at Kuehne + Nagel, which he successfully built up over the years. "After almost two years, we can look back on a very successful development with our new project logistics product and are constantly expanding this area. We are already a strong competitor in the market and can draw attention to ourselves with well-known project references," says Navid Thielemann.
