Mayrhofer has over 20 years of professional experience in the international transportation business. After working for Schenker for a decade in various management positions, he moved to Red Bull. There he was responsible for the restructuring of global transportation processes as well as the implementation of new sea freight strategies and the development of new international logistics hubs. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Senator International Spedition GmbH in Hamburg, where he was responsible for global sea freight as well as contract logistics, marketing, quality and personnel development.

"In Gerald Mayrhofer, we have gained a sea freight expert who not only brings international experience to the table, but also a proven track record in the strategic development of the sea freight business. By investing in digitalization and systems, but also in our employees, we will continue to drive the solid growth of our sea freight business in the coming years," says Bart de Vries, Chief Operating Officer Air & Sea. The Seafreight division contributed around a quarter of the Hellmann Group's total turnover in the 2017 reporting year.
