Dr. Andreas Werner new CTO at Swisslog

Dr.-Ing. Andreas Werner, 39, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Technology Center (TC) at Swisslog with effect from January 1. The electrical engineering graduate with a doctorate in mechanical engineering and computer science works at the Dortmund site, Swisslog's competence center for robotics and new technologies.

He will strengthen the management team of the leading global provider of automated intralogistics technologies, focusing primarily on the further expansion of data-driven solutions. "I am looking forward to my new role at Swisslog," says Werner, who wants to make a significant contribution to the expansion success of the Swiss group with his expertise in intralogistics, mobile robotics, software and digitalization: "Together with my powerful team, this is the greatest incentive for me."

Andreas Werner comes from the Beumer Group, where he was most recently Divisional Director Innovation and Interim Divisional Director Software Solutions, responsible for the expansion of new development sites, standardization and modularization and project implementation in the area of software. He gained international experience primarily in Asia, Scandinavia and Southern Europe. Before joining Beumer, Andreas Werner worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics and played various roles in shaping the areas of the Internet of Things and swarm robotics in intralogistics.
