The listed Port Logistics subgroup generated sales revenue of 1.26 billion euros and an operating result (EBIT) of 188 million euros. Growth was also recorded in container throughput. A total of 7.3 million standard containers (TEU) were handled at HHLA's container terminals in the 2018 financial year - 1.9 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. Container throughput at the three container terminals in Hamburg matched the high level of the previous year, while the international HHLA container terminals in Odessa (Ukraine) and Tallinn (Estonia) increased their throughput.

"Ambitious targets achieved"
Commenting on the preliminary figures published for the 2018 financial year, Chairwoman of the Executive Board Angela Titzrath said: "HHLA performed very successfully in the past financial year, despite a deteriorating market environment in the second half of the year. The ambitious targets we forecast a year ago were achieved and in some cases even exceeded. These results confirm our strategy of strengthening HHLA's creative power and future viability. We will continue to implement this consistently. HHLA should be the gateway to the future." The Annual Report for 2018 and an outlook for the current financial year will be published on March 27.
