Rhenus expands
Rhenus takes over Simon Hegele's high-tech activities
Rhenus High Tech acquired all the shares in Simon Hegele Hightech Transport & Service GmbH, a subsidiary of the Simon Hegele Group, on February 20.
Rhenus High Tech, which is part of the Rhenus Group, would like to strengthen its market position with this move. Rhenus and Simon Hegele also want to work together on network-related customer projects in the future. The takeover is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
Long-standing cooperation
Rhenus High Tech and Simon Hegele have been cooperating in their distribution networks for more than five years. "In a dynamic market environment such as high-tech logistics, it's essential to focus on quality and strategic further development and to implement these quickly, consistently and economically. The takeover will enable us to create the conditions for expanding the range of services offered by Rhenus High Tech," says Ronny Sassen, Managing Director of Rhenus High Tech.
As a technical value-added logistics provider, Rhenus High Tech offers technical and logistics solutions, including installation, equipment replacement, updates, cleaning and repair, data management, disassembly and disposal of technical equipment.
"We will focus all our attention on expanding our business in the Industry & Trade and Healthcare Solutions sectors in the areas of contract logistics, direct transportation, assembly and value-added services," says Stefan Ulrich, CEO of the Simon Hegele Group. "We're delighted to have found an owner in the Rhenus Group that has the experience, expertise and willingness to invest to develop our high-tech transport division in a targeted manner."
