Logistics service providers: New location for Dachser in Austria

Stans/Kempten, 04.08.2017 - Logistics service provider Dachser is investing around EUR 6.5 million in a new facility in Stans in Tyrol, Austria. The new branch covers a total area of around 20,000 square meters. Dachser Austria has now celebrated the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony, with commissioning planned for the end of 2017. 40 additional jobs will be created at the site.

The new logistics center in Tyrol replaces the location in Hall and offers customers comprehensive transport and warehouse logistics. The facility has 30 gates and the storage and logistics area covers approx. 4,700 square meters. Additional loading points and parking spaces can be built in a further construction phase.

In the presence of Tyrolean Governor Günther Platter and Michel Huber, Mayor of Stans, Günter Hirschbeck, Managing Director Dachser Austria European Logistics, and his Tyrolean team performed the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. "Over the next few months, a modern facility will be built here that is of great importance for western Austria and beyond," said Günter Hirschbeck in his opening speech. "The new site will strengthen the region. In addition to the existing 45 jobs, we are creating 40 more."

From the end of 2017, Dachser will be offering its customers customized contract logistics services at the Stans site, as well as direct access to the comprehensive European transport network and the global air and sea freight services of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics.

Dachser has a network of ten branches in Austria that offers its customers proximity to the market. Synchronized transports connect the location in Tyrol with 362 locations in Europe. Daily transports to Eastern Europe and the Balkans are handled via the Eurohub in Bratislava, Slovakia. red/cd
