Midea relies on pfenning logistics
The pfenning logistics group, a contract logistics provider in the consumer goods sector, will in future take on logistics and logistics-related tasks for the global technology group Midea. The cooperation covers the entire product range of large and small household appliances as well as air conditioning systems of the Midea, comfee' and Toshiba brands.
The contractual partner of pfenning logistics is Midea Europe GmbH, the European subsidiary of the Chinese high-tech group. The Midea Group has over 150,000 employees and is active in more than 200 countries: Consumer electronics and air conditioning, robotics, industrial automation and logistics. According to its own statements, the Group is the world's No. 1 in consumer appliances, the world's No. 1 in air treatment, the world's No. 1 in large appliances and the world's No. 1 in small household appliances. Global sales achieved in 2019 amounted to the equivalent of 34.7 billion euros. This puts the Midea Group in 307th place in Fortune Global.
Partnership with potential for the European central warehouse
Operations at the Philippsburg logistics site will start at the beginning of 2021 with the Midea product portfolios of air conditioning systems, refrigerators and freezers, household appliances and small kitchen appliances - more than 400 items in total. "We see the pfenning logistics group as a very strong partner with whom we can develop sustainable logistics solutions and innovations for our European central warehouse," says Ralf Buss, Director Finance & Operations at Midea Europe GmbH. "The logistics services that pfenning logistics will provide include warehousing, spare parts stocking, order picking, outgoing goods to various B2B and B2C customers and returns handling. In the medium term, we are planning to set up a warehouse outlet and an academy for installers and technicians," explains Buss.

"This decision fits in perfectly with our company's recently announced plans for growth in terms of space," continues Nag.
Contract logistics company once again among Germany's TOP 100
pfenning logistics has moved up to 55th place among around 60,000 logistics service providers in the latest edition of the renowned "TOP 100 Der Logistik" study and has improved to 10th place in the ranking of German consumer goods contract logistics providers.
