Logistics on the move - charity campaign exceeds expectations
Running, cycling, riding - Logivest launched a cross-company charity campaign at the end of July under the motto "Logistics on the move". For the benefit of the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation, the consulting company called on logistics specialists throughout Germany to get moving together for a good cause and donate money in the process. The results are impressive: The employees of the participating companies covered a total of almost 31,000 km within three months. Every kilometer was rewarded and so the initiators of Logistics on the Move, Kuno Neumeier, CEO of the Logivest Group and his wife Karin, were able to present the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation with a cheque for a total of 42,000 euros.
Whether running, cycling, hiking, swimming, rowing or riding - every kilometer counted and each company could decide for itself how to reward it. All activities were documented with photos or screenshots from the pedometer or fitness app and also posted on the Logistik in Bewegung channel on Instagram. A nice side effect: especially in times of working from home and contact restrictions, the campaign also proved to be a good team-building measure and motivation boost for each individual.
"The campaign shows once again what the logistics community can achieve. What began as an idea has become a real movement. We are delighted that other companies have also joined in with so much enthusiasm and drive and that we are able to present this cheque today on behalf of everyone, so to speak," says Kuno Neumeier. Logivest has been supporting the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation for years. Karin Neumeier is active there as a member of the board of trustees, among other things, and repeatedly experiences how important the foundation's work is. It supports young mourners throughout Germany. "The cancellation of the annual YoungWings charity run due to coronavirus gave us the idea of launching our own campaign and mobilizing the logistics community," says Karin Neumeier.
Martina Münch-Nicolaidis, Chairwoman of the foundation, is overwhelmed by the campaign: "Logistics on the Move has moved us in the truest sense of the word. Over the past few months, we've seen on Instagram and LinkedIn how many people have gone the extra mile for us. The financial support that we receive from every single kilometer, but also the attention that Logistik in Bewegung has drawn to our commitment, help us a lot in our daily work."
A total of ten companies took part in the campaign and got moving for a good cause or simply made a donation: CH2 Contorhaus Hansestadt Hamburg AG, Garbe Industrial Real Estate, Grenzebach Group, Headgate GmbH, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, Logivest GmbH, Loxxess AG, Neovia Logistics, Stephan Meyer Consulting and teamtosse GmbH.
