ID Logistics takes over intralogistics from A.T.U.

Around two and a half years after taking over intralogistics for A.T.U, A.T.U and ID Logistics Germany are taking stock. At the 80,000 square meter site in Werl, North Rhine-Westphalia, ID Logistics manages the internal material and information flows as well as the goods handling for around 21,000 different products of Germany's largest workshop chain.

"The takeover was a success for both sides. Our location in Werl is a good reference for branded companies or retailers who no longer want to operate their logistics business themselves and instead want to hand it over to a service provider with e-commerce and multichannel experience," explains Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany.

In fall 2021, ID Logistics took over the B2B and B2C intralogistics of A.T.U. Autoteile Unger with 80 employees in Werl in a transfer of operations and integrated the logistics services provided by A.T.U at the Weiden site in Werl. The contract logistics provider currently employs around 140 people on a permanent basis in order to supply 529 branches in Germany and the e-commerce business with spare parts and accessories from just one location. "By outsourcing services - such as the management and implementation of logistics processes in a goods center - companies can concentrate more on their core competencies and at the same time make their logistics more dynamic," adds Detlef Kurzbuch, Commercial Director at ID Logistics Germany and responsible for business development.
