Gebrüder Weiss takes over Rentschler forwarding company

Transport and logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss is taking over the freight forwarding company Rentschler Transport + Logistik, based in Altensteig in the northern Black Forest, with effect from January 1, 2023. "Rentschler's scope of service and location offer ideal conditions for the network consolidation we are pursuing in southern Germany. Especially in the triangle formed by our Aldingen and Esslingen branches in Baden-Württemberg, shippers from industry and trade will benefit from bundling effects for transports," explains Werner Dettenthaler, Managing Director Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss.

"Under the umbrella of Gebrüder Weiss, our growth prospects and development opportunities are expanding. This strategic step will give our customers access to a broader range of services and connections to the global network of an established full-service logistics provider," adds Andreas Rentschler, Managing Director of Rentschler Transport + Logistik. The freight forwarder specializes in groupage, part and full load transport in Baden-Württemberg and operates a logistics terminal in Altensteig.

With this acquisition, Gebrüder Weiss is taking a further step in its growth strategy in southern Germany. The Altensteig site, located 60 kilometers south of Stuttgart, complements Gebrüder Weiss' existing southern German land transport locations in Esslingen, Aldingen, Lindau, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Straubing,
Waldkraiburg and Passau.
