Focus on collaboration
Logivisor Institute launches
A network for decision-makers from retail and industrial companies - Stephan Meyer, owner of Stephan Meyer Management Consulting, and Kuno Neumeier, CEO of the Logivest Group (pictured), have founded a joint venture with Logivisor Institute GmbH, which aims to significantly improve cooperation between industry and retail with logistics service providers.
The aim of the independent network is to create the basis for an open, cross-industry exchange of experience and to jointly develop standards for cooperation with logistics service providers. On the basis of fairness, sustainability and responsibility, the Logivisor Institute sees itself as a driver and catalyst for an alliance of like-minded people who want to actively shape the future of logistics outsourcing - with a view to greater satisfaction on both sides.
"We have observed that cooperation between shippers and logistics service providers has become less satisfactory in recent years. With the Logivisor Institute, we are now bringing together decision-makers from retail and industrial companies to tackle this issue and develop solutions," says Stephan Meyer. "Basically, the Logivisor Institute is a further development of the insights we gained from the LogiVisor Award," adds Kuno Neumeier.
At the award, which was initiated by Stephan Meyer and Logivest for the first time in 2019, a jury of experts from trade and industry selected the best German contract logistics providers in various categories. "The jury work for the LogiVisor Award clearly showed how different the criteria for evaluating logistics service providers are. With the institute, we are now creating a framework for developing new standards, but also for shippers to make a certain commitment with regard to outsourcing. However, the focus is clearly on improving long-term cooperation," says Neumeier.
The term Logivisor, coined for the first time with the award, is intended to be synonymous with a fundamentally new type of cooperation between logistics service providers and shippers. This idea has also been incorporated into the online platform www.logivisor.com, which was recently launched by Logivest. This brings together customers from trade and industry with logistics service providers from all over Germany.
The independent Logivisor Institute focuses on the transfer of qualified knowledge in the areas of outsourcing, insourcing, service provider change, the development of concrete, practical content and the facilitation of an unfiltered, confidential exchange of experience between decision-makers. As a basis for this, the Logivisor Institute organizes face-to-face events, working groups and initiatives for its members and offers the opportunity for further training on selected topics via the exclusive member area of the website.
"Our members shape the way their respective companies work with service providers in the field of logistics," says Meyer. The Logivisor Institute is therefore aimed at a broad target group of operational and strategic logistics managers, supply chain managers, purchasing managers, production managers, board members, managing directors and corporate developers.
As one of the first measures, the Logivisor Institute is conducting a study on satisfaction with existing contract logistics outsourcing in collaboration with WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. The first results are expected to be available from June 2021.
