The originals on the left are manufactured by Weinmann Emergency Medical Technology, Hamburg, Germany. The counterfeits come from China, from Ambulanc, Shenzhen. Counterfeits and fakes seem to be socially accepted by consumers. Almost every second consumer has already bought or would buy a counterfeit product. 55% of those surveyed in the Ernst&Young study knew it was a counterfeit when they bought it, while 18% at least suspected it. The low price compared to the original is the main reason why most people buy counterfeits.
