Hyster large forklift trucks meet three different emission standards
For customers from all over the world, Hyster now offers forklift trucks that meet three different emission standards. Depending on the applicable regulations, the industrial trucks are equipped for Stage III/Tier 3, Stage IV/Tier 4 or Stage V.
Hyster trucks with a load capacity of over eight tons, container stackers and reach stackers can be configured at the time of purchase to meet the emission standards according to the applicable local regulations and requirements," explains Jan Willem van den Brand, Director Big Truck Product Strategy & Solutions at Hyster Europe.
In Europe, new 20- to 52-ton Hyster trucks purchased after January 1, 2019 and new 8- to 18-ton trucks purchased after January 1, 2020 must have Stage V compliant engines. Under the exemption, trucks ordered before these dates may be delivered with Stage IV compliant engines.
Hyster industrial trucks with a load capacity of over eight tons will in future be equipped with Stage V-compliant Mercedes-Benz engines from the 1000 and 1100 series. The exact date from which the engines will be available varies depending on the series. "Our new Stage V-compliant models also offer low AdBlue consumption," says van den Brand. "For customers in the USA and in regions where forklifts have to comply with Stage IV/Tier 4 emission standards, we offer highly efficient Cummins engines with fast cycle times."
For the Chinese market, Hyster continues to offer engines that comply with the China III standard. In future, however, forklifts will be supplied in accordance with the new China IV standard. "Hyster forklifts help to reduce the total cost of ownership," says van den Brand. "Whether it's handling containers in a rail terminal, hot slabs in a steel mill or stacking paper rolls, our trucks deliver optimum performance in every application."
