Schmalz: New app makes production more transparent

At Motek 2017 in Stuttgart, Schmalz demonstrated how vacuum technology provides users with important process data via various channels, makes automation processes transparent and thus leads to increased productivity. One highlight is the app that Schmalz presented for the first time at Motek: all NFC-enabled smart field devices from Schmalz can not only be read, but also written to. This means that the user can, for example, parameterize the VSi vacuum and pressure switch via smartphone or transfer values from one device to another. This reduces the commissioning time by up to 75 percent. There is also no need for display and input modules on the gripping systems.
