Beumer takes over FAM from Magdeburg
The Magdeburg-based FAM Group, a provider of conveyor systems and loading technology, is now wholly owned by the Beckum-based Beumer Group. The purchase agreement signed at the beginning of May was legally completed on June 9, 2022.
The Beumer Group has established a stable position in the bulk solids technology market for decades. With the acquisition of the FAM Group, the systems provider aims to strengthen its market position in the minerals and mining sectors.
The FAM Group, headquartered in Magdeburg, is an internationally active medium-sized group and manufacturer of conveyor systems with 750 employees. According to the company press release, the company is one of the world's leading full-service providers of bulk material handling and processing systems. FAM plans, designs and manufactures turnkey plants and systems for the extraction, conveying, loading and storage of minerals, raw materials and goods. In addition to expanding the portfolio, it complements Beumer's expertise in plant project planning with its know-how and global positioning. In addition to planning and engineering, FAM contributes the entire value chain including after-sales service.
