Products and heads: Light but robust
Dambach Lagersysteme aims to set new standards with a newly developed electric floor conveyor vehicle. By using lightweight construction, Dambach has succeeded in reducing the tare weight of the vehicle to less than 60 percent of what it claims to be standard market values.
Despite the weight-optimized design, the vehicles of the Monoflex electric floor conveyor are robust and inherently rigid. The transport system is suitable for various pallet types. Payloads of up to 1,500 kilograms are possible - even with tight curve radii. Variable load handling attachments such as chain conveyors with shifting unit or roller conveyors make the floor conveyor versatile. Depending on the layout, transport capacities of 450 pallets per hour can be achieved. Two travel drives guarantee high acceleration values and stable running during switch movements. Travel speeds of up to 0.7 m/s² and 150 m/min make the Monoflex system dynamic. With the new Monoflex system, Dambach also aims to close the gap between traditional continuous conveyor technology and modern pallet shuttle systems.
Dr. Benjamin Thumm, responsible for product management, went into detail with materialfluss.
materialfluss: What is the "killer argument" with which you would have convinced the trade fair visitor of your product in the shortest possible time?
Dr.-Ing. Benjamin Thumm: The optimum combination of design and function in a very compact electric floor track vehicle. Compared to market competitors, mechanics and electronics merge perfectly into one unit. This not only achieves the best possible approach dimensions, but also a high degree of standardization. The Dambach Rail Cart is therefore a sophisticated mechatronic product that is already put into operation in the factory.
mfl: What's next for the product in the coming months? Are you planning further updates/improvements?
Thumm: All new products that Dambach launches on the market are extensively tested in advance and tried out in pilot plants. Regardless of customer and market requirements, we are constantly developing our products further.
mfl: What strategy do you want to use to reach your customers now, even without a trade fair?
Thumm: Thanks to the hard work of many colleagues, we were able to set up a virtual trade fair in a very short space of time. Customers and interested parties were able to get in touch with our sales team in a live chat and receive targeted information with interactive products. In future, we will regularly inform customers and interested parties about new products at the Dambach online trade fair.
