Interroll introduces new infeed for crossbelt sorters
Interroll is expanding its modular platform solutions for a particularly efficient material flow with a new infeed conveyor.
This is designed to work in conjunction with Interroll's crossbelt sorters. Thanks to higher infeed speeds and a reduced space requirement, the new infeed modules offer potential for increasing the throughput of automatic sorting systems.
Despite their higher performance, the infeed modules are more compact than their predecessors. At the same time, they operate more quietly and are also suitable for transporting smaller goods. Based on the design of Interroll's successful Modular Conveyor Platform (MCP), these new infeed conveyors offer all the flexibility and efficiency benefits of a modular conveyor platform.
For the first time, synchronous drum motors are used to drive the compact infeed conveyors, making the use of side-mounted geared motors superfluous. This means that a larger number of infeed conveyors can be installed in the same amount of space. As elastic belts are used, the individual belt conveyors in the conveyor sections can be very short if required. For example, a length to width ratio of 1:2 can be achieved, allowing high transport speeds and very short distances between the individual conveyed goods. This also makes it possible to transport small goods.
The new infeed conveyor consists of several belt conveyors that are driven independently of each other. This makes it possible to adapt the transport speeds to the requirements of the respective sorter, so that an optimum infeed rate of the conveyed goods is achieved.
