Double-digit million volume
Interroll receives major order in the USA
Interroll announces the receipt of a major order from a leading e-commerce platform in North America. The order is for the supply of vertical crossbelt sorters for 12 locations and is worth tens of millions of US dollars.
The sorting systems will be installed at both new and existing end-customer locations in the United States. Increased consumer demand for e-commerce, combined with the urgent need to meet social distancing requirements during the COVID-19 outbreak, led to the end customer's need to rapidly expand its existing distribution infrastructure. The simplified design of Interroll's mechanical crossbelt sorter platform allowed the end customer and system integrators involved to plan with a six-month lead time. Interroll received orders for a total of 12 locations, one system per location, totaling tens of millions of dollars.
"The Interroll Vertical Crossbelt Sorter was selected for its exceptional performance and proven success in large-scale projects in the US courier, express and parcel market," says Richard Keely, Executive Vice President Americas and member of the Interroll Group Management Board. "In addition, the small footprint, the throughput of 8,000 units per hour through each induction and the handling of a high variety of items were key factors in us being awarded this great opportunity."
