Economic survey

People are the most important thing

Our eleven for 23: In the exclusive survey by materialfluss, eleven experts assess where the journey is heading this year. Jörg Mandelatz, Managing Director of Interroll Fördertechnik, is one of them.

What makes me look to the future with confidence, even in these uncertain times? It is the experience that even at the height of the coronavirus crisis, people were quick to rise to the new challenges. At Interroll, for example, employees have not allowed themselves to be paralyzed by the threatening situation. On the contrary: they have taken on even more responsibility for customers, have successfully broken new ground and have also solved difficult problems - for example in the supply chain area.

People are the most important thing. In the current environment, forecasts for Germany's economic development are fraught with uncertainty. However, there are not only headwinds for our industry: the trend towards greater energy efficiency, automation and the most flexible solutions possible will continue to strengthen. This is not only good for Interroll in Germany, but for the material handling industry as a whole. Economic clouds will probably gather at first, but I expect a clear trend towards an improvement as the year progresses.
