Changes at the Arzberg site
Purus Plastics becomes part of the Dettmer Group
The Arzberg-based company is about to take the next big step in its growth and, according to its previous shareholders, this would not have been possible. Major investments are required to make this possible. In the search for a financially strong, strategic investor, the company came across the Dettmer Group.
"We are very happy to have found a medium-sized solution and a company whose corporate culture is very similar to ours. The chemistry between the people in charge and us was right from the start," says former shareholder Thomas Manzei.
The change in ownership further strengthens the existing basis. With the investments that can now be realized, the necessary conditions have been created for further growth at the site and beyond. This also secures the future of the company, writes Purus Plastics.
The Dettmer Group developed from a shipping company into a broad-based family business in the areas of shipping, air freight, rail logistics, tank storage, warehousing and handling. The decisive factor for the integration of Purus Plastics, however, was its Waste & Recycling division.
"We see huge growth potential in the areas of sustainability. Purus was therefore a perfect fit, as it also has a suitable product portfolio for our other business areas. We want to implement Purus' growth strategy and thus expand our market position, says Heiner Dettmer, owner of the Dettmer Group (pictured).
Organizationally, however, not much will change for the time being. The company name will remain the same and Purus Plastics will become a 100% part of the Dettmer Group. All employees will be taken on and the site will be further expanded.
Thomas Manzei will remain Managing Director until 30.06.23 and will then support the company in an advisory capacity. Company founder Jürgen Manzei retires from the management and will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity. Waltraud Zeisel will remain Managing Director. "We are handing over the company with a smile and a tear in our eye. We have built up a lot and developed a great team, which we are now placing in good hands for the next stage of development," says company founder Jürgen Manzei.
