OHRA shelving systems - safe and robust (Advertorial)
The medium-sized company OHRA is a partner to industry and a supplier of storage systems for a wide range of sectors. At its Kerpen site near Cologne, OHRA plans, produces and assembles shelving systems made of hot-rolled steel profiles, a quality feature for robust storage technology. Safety in the warehouse is part of the company philosophy.

Shortly after its foundation in 1979, OHRA focused on solutions for the storage of heavy goods and quickly established itself in Europe. Today, OHRA is one of the market leaders in shelving systems for long goods or heavy loads.
For companies in the metalworking industry, mechanical engineering or logistics companies, heavy-duty shelving is the shelving system most in demand. As all load-bearing elements are made of hot-rolled, full-wall steel profiles, shelf loads of up to 6,000 kg can be easily achieved in the standard range. This is particularly important when storing tools, sheet metal packages or coils, for example, in a safe and space-saving manner.

OHRA has perfected cantilever racking for long goods, flat goods or demanding stored goods. This shelving consists of vertical upright profiles that are punched at 100 mm intervals. The cantilever arms are then suspended horizontally here. Thanks to this robust, slimline design, different loads can be stored without interfering intermediate supports, virtually endlessly, without any loss of space. Thanks to the suspension technology of the cantilever arms with forged backing plates, they deflect sideways and upwards in the event of impact with the forklift, so that both the stored goods and the cantilever arm remain undamaged. The cantilever arms can be adjusted in 100 mm increments without tools so that the shelving can be quickly adapted. The cantilever rack also consists of hot-rolled, solid-walled steel profiles. This reduces the space requirement compared to cantilever racking made from optimized sheet metal profiles.
The shelving systems are also ideally suited for outdoor use, with or without a roof or as a warehouse. Thanks to the use of hot-rolled, full-wall steel profiles, there is no risk of hidden rust formation compared to cantilever racking made from optimized sheet metal profiles. The stability of the shelving systems also reduces follow-up costs that can arise due to damaged components during operation.
Up to five storeys can be realized
OHRA's high load-bearing storage platforms are becoming increasingly popular. Columns, purlins and beams are also made from hot-rolled steel profiles, depending on the load requirements. Up to five storeys can be realized. The standard load-bearing capacity alone is 250 to 1,000 kg/sqm. This means that the room height can be fully utilized up to the roof.
For almost 40 years, OHRA has been the specialist for storage, especially for heavy and bulky loads. The trained sales team throughout Europe always focuses first on the customer's requirements and wishes during consultations. Only then is planning and production carried out. It should be emphasized that all shelving is manufactured to customer specifications.
Personal advice on site, dialog with the customer and safety in the warehouse are the decisive factors for customer satisfaction. At the LogiMAT trade fair in Stuttgart, you can experience the benefits of these storage systems first hand.
