Magnetic core makes it possible
Sound chamber expands selection of ready-to-install magnet systems
The magnet technology specialist Schallenkammer is expanding its portfolio of ready-to-install and ready-to-fit magnet systems for technical applications with two new product groups. In addition to its selection of flat and cylindrical magnet systems in steel housings, the Kürnach-based company now also offers plastic clip profile magnets for the grooves of aluminum profiles as well as screws with magnetic adhesion. What almost all magnet systems have in common is that they offer a further mechanical function in addition to their magnetic force.
The new profile magnets for the widely used aluminum profiles of well-known manufacturers are connecting elements. They can be used to attach covers, cladding, tools or containers, for example, to profile and linear systems in assembly technology, positioning technology or fixture construction. The elements consist of a black plastic housing containing a magnetic core made of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) - a very strong magnet. The plastic housing is designed so that the magnetic system can be inserted and "clipped" into the groove of the profile from above. It can then be freely slid into the desired position in the groove and fixed in place with a grub screw. The profile magnets can be removed again at any time in a few simple steps. Schallenkammer offers the new clip magnets in four different versions.
The second new product group includes a range of three different screw types with integrated NdFeB magnets. On the one hand, the designer will find classic, galvanized hexagon head screws, on the other hand headless and also galvanized grub screws (hexagon socket) and also a selection of cylindrical screw bolts with rubberized magnetic surfaces. The hexagon head screws have their magnet in the head, the grub screws in the tip and the elastic magnetic surface is located on the face of the screw bolts.
Schallenkammer offers the hexagon head screws in 25 thread sizes from M 6 x12 to M 16 x 80 and in overall lengths from 16.3 to 90 mm. The grub screws are available in the same 25 thread sizes for hexagon socket wrenches 3 to 8. And the stud bolts are available in three diameters: 13, 16 and 20 mm. Their heights are 16, 18 and 20 mm and their grub screws have the sizes M 6 x 10, M 8 x12 and M 10 x 14.
As mentioned, the two new product groups complement Schallenkammer's overall range of flat and cylindrical magnet systems. They cover a range of applications: as disks and cylinders in steel housings - also with through-holes or internal and external threads - as well as magnetic core cylinders (AlNiCo 500/ NdFeB/ SmCo) with and without fitting tolerances. Other magnet systems from Schallenkammer include pot magnets in red housings, decorative and fastening elements with self-adhesive backs, hooks and eyes as well as ready-to-fit tool holding magnet rails in plastic or wooden housings.
