Consistent success
Bizerba builds on record sales
Bizerba, one of the leading providers of weighing, slicing and labeling technology, generated global sales of 675 million euros in the 2018 financial year. The family-owned company from Balingen, Baden-Württemberg, is thus following on from the record revenue achieved in the same period of the previous year. Bizerba is wholly owned by the Kraut family of shareholders.
Sales in the past financial year were primarily attributable to other European countries. No less than 45% of total sales were generated there. The rest of the world accounted for around 68 percent. This corresponds to an increase in turnover of around three percent. In Germany, sales remained at the same high level as the previous year at 216 million euros. The Industry Solutions and Business and Financial Services segments were among the fastest-growing business areas. These three divisions each generated an average increase in turnover of around four million euros. The number of employees rose to 4,146.
"The once again strong result in the 2018 financial year confirms our path of growth through innovation," says Andreas Kraut, CEO and shareholder of Bizerba. "We will continue to expand our product portfolio in the future with innovative hardware and software solutions as well as comprehensive digital service offerings. Promising partnerships will also enable us to tap into new business areas. New developments such as the world's first affordable loss prevention system for the retail sector or SmartShelf, an intelligent shelf developed in cooperation with Microsoft, create the conditions for further growth in the AI market."
This success is driven by the core areas of weighing, cutting and labeling technology. However, the Digital Services and Sensor Technology divisions as well as the company's various financing offers also made an important contribution. In addition, Bizerba is strengthening its Balingen and Meßkirch sites with investments totaling 15 million euros over the next three years. The centerpiece in this context is a new logistics center for spare parts logistics at the main and service location in Balingen.
