Swisslog GmbH: Dr. Martin Thomaier is the new Managing Director
Dr. Martin Thomaier has been a member of the management team at Swisslog GmbH since July. The mechanical engineer joins Gerd Jennissen, Commercial Managing Director, and Heinz Ennen, Managing Director Sales, as Technical Managing Director.
Thomaier joined Swisslog in 2018 from Schenck Process GmbH, Oberhausen. With a wealth of experience from automation and software projects, he took over the management of the Technology & Competence Center, or TC for short. In this sector, Swisslog develops and tests new logistics technologies and brings them to market maturity. The Swiss company, headquartered in Buchs, has been expanding in Germany for many years and is constantly developing its Dortmund site as a technology hub. Last March, the foundation stone was also laid for a new office building for up to 330 employees, which will be ready for occupancy in 2021. The Technology & Competence Center is an expression of the corporate strategy, according to which Swisslog is no longer positioning itself on the market primarily as an integrator, but also as a product supplier of innovative logistics technologies.
