End-to-end storage solution
Netto opts for Vanderlande solution
Vanderlande has signed a contract with Salling Group A/S - the largest grocery retailer in Denmark and owner of Netto - to supply Storepick, a robotic end-to-end warehouse solution for grocery retailers.
The system will supply up to 600 stores in Denmark with dry goods. Netto is the largest store format of its kind in the country and is looking to further optimize its supply chain through increased automation due to continued growth. The company has decided to implement Vanderlande's Storepick solution (for automated carton picking) at its distribution center in Køge. The installation is scheduled to start in January 2021.
Storepick uses modern, proven technology that can be easily integrated into existing facilities and expanded thanks to its modular design. The system, which is based on so-called functional modules, includes both robot-assisted and manual depalletizing stations, six robot-assisted palletizers and the Adapto storage/retrieval system from Vanderlande. Within Adapto, 60 shuttles are used on over 30 levels to access around 43,000 storage positions in the shortest possible time.
"With the Storepick solution from Vanderlande, we want to improve the ergonomic processes in the Køge distribution center," reports Brian Svaerke, Head of Logistics & Supply Chain at Netto. "Storepick fits perfectly with the high-bay racking system from a third-party supplier that we use in parallel, and we see this combination as the optimal overall solution for our requirements. With its extensive experience, Vanderlande can provide a first-class automated robotic palletizing system that will open up new benefits for Netto."
