Logistics software
inconso bundles logistics processes for Sonepar
Sonepar is progressing with the optimization of IT-supported logistics processes at several locations. In cooperation with inconso, the company is introducing a holistic logistics solution.
The electrical wholesaler relies on inconsoWMS for warehouse management, inconsooTMS for transport management and inconsoPOD for digital proof of delivery on the last mile across all locations. With inconsoDOM (Distributed Order Management System), the distribution of goods to individual regional and central warehouses is optimized, which Sonepar then uses to create a uniform software landscape for handling all logistics processes.
Sonepar Germany operates around 300 branches, six central warehouses and over 80 transit points. The product range comprises around 100,000 items in stock. Over 40,000 products are available from the large warehouses distributed throughout Germany, and product availability is usually guaranteed within 24 hours. "The solutions from inconso were particularly convincing due to the possibilities that result from integrated process handling to cover all processes from the warehouse to the customer. Sonepar's specific business processes are also mapped as part of a standardized procedure and support the employees in logistics and in the second delivery stage via a fully integrated web solution. For us, the introduction forms the foundation for further digitization, which we can set up based on the uniform and integrated solution in the coming months and years," as Mark Michaelis, Managing Director at Sonepar Deutschland Information Services GmbH, explains.
With system rollouts already completed at the Essen and Holzwickede sites, the large-scale project has been progressing with corresponding go-lives since 2018. The collaboration with inconso is currently being continued at other German locations, such as Langweid am Lech and Hof (Bavaria). inconsoDOM enables cross-location network control and a comprehensive view of inventories at the locations and in transit, as well as availability and capacity utilization in the warehouse and transport environment. Sonepar relies on inconsoPOD (Proof of Delivery) to establish end-to-end shipment tracking (Track & Trace) along the transport and supply chain. The cloud solution enables drivers to conveniently transfer all delivery activities via an app. The data from the inconsoTMS is also available in real time for end-to-end inventory management in the inconsoWMS, giving the electrical wholesaler a detailed view of all goods movements.
