Storage system specialist Nedcon celebrated its 50th anniversary this summer. The company in Bocholt has been growing continuously since 2009. This growth has been driven by the booming e-commerce sector and the need for automated systems.

Nedcon celebrated its 50th anniversary at the beginning of July 2019. Since its beginnings in 1969, the global player in the field of storage systems has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of storage systems - from manual storage racks and semi-automatic systems to integrated systems for complex and automated storage systems. "The flood of e-commerce in recent years ensures attractive prospects for the future. We have been developing racking for automated warehouses since 1984," says CEO Edwin Bolwerk.

400 employees feel like a team
Initially the company consisted of a handful of employees, today there are more than 400. Nedcon has branches in the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, France and the USA. The typical Nedcon spirit has been present in the company from the very beginning. "There are now 19 different nationalities working at Nedcon, but our employees experience a strong family culture, as we regularly hear. We work as a team and support each other in the various projects. That's what makes us so successful," says CFO Erik Lansink.

Another success factor is the ability to continuously adapt to market developments. "A lot has happened in the storage systems market. We are broadly positioned, from standard components to complex, automated projects. Two thirds of our business is in this niche market, which offers significant growth potential," says Bolwerk. "Without the extensive knowledge of our employees, we would not be able to meet this demand. We also have everything in-house - product development, testing in our own test center and, of course, our own production in Pardubice, Czech Republic. This is what sets Nedcon apart from our competitors."
