First intralogistics exhibitors at the Hannover Messe have been confirmed
"At Hannover Messe, exhibitors and visitors can find out what impact the digital transformation will have on individual companies and how great the disruptive potential is for logistics," says Onuora Ogbukagu, Head of Marketing and Communications at Deutsche Messe AG. "There is no comparable platform in the world where all aspects of industrial transformation are discussed across all sectors."
The developments surrounding Industry 4.0 and digitalization affect all sectors and will also have a lasting impact on logistics. Existing material flow concepts are being called into question and require new answers. The focus is on flexibility and transparency. The digital transformation offers all logistics companies far-reaching opportunities and potential, but also poses risks for established companies, as many start-ups are currently entering the market with IT solutions and developing both new products and new business models.
"We know that the market is looking for answers and guidance, and it's our job to share our experiences. Today, new ideas are driven by technology rather than hardware, so we will be presenting our stories in Hall 4, alongside other leading technology providers, rather than in the traditional forklift pavilions where we have exhibited in previous years," says Matthias Fischer, President and CEO, Toyota Material Handling Europe.
At the upcoming Hannover Messe (April 20-24, 2020), a total of around 6,000 companies from all over the world will be presenting products and solutions. Suppliers include Autostore, Hänel, Metalsistim, Still, Toyota Material Handling, Sick, Siemens and SEW as well as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Oracle, PSI, SAP, Software AG and viastore systems.
The Logistics Forum in Hall 2 will provide a content-related stage, where current topics such as the platform economy, artificial intelligence, new business models, drones and autonomous vehicles or innovative strategies in retail logistics will be discussed over the five days of the trade fair. "The topics discussed there often not only affect logistics, but also the industry. Platform economy is one such topic. There is a risk here that someone from outside the industry will develop a platform solution. This is why many medium-sized industrial companies are working on their own solutions," says Ogbukagu.
Another cross-fair topic is the use of artificial intelligence in logistics. The potential for this is enormous. According to experts, logistics will be the first industry in which AI processes will become established on a massive scale.
The content partners of the forum are the German Logistics Association (BVL), the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) with the trade associations Materials Handling and Intralogistics as well as Software and Digitalization.
IFOY Award ceremony
On Monday, April 20, the IFOY Award will be presented as part of the Hannover Messe. The best intralogistics products and solutions of the year will be honored in various categories on the Forum stage.
