Experience automation: Dematic customer day at Ceratizit
On September 12, Dematic is hosting a customer day at the Ceratizit distribution center in Kempten in the Allgäu region. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the hard metal manufacturer's automated warehouse in action and gain detailed insights into the project. The event will focus on the seven-aisle multishuttle system implemented by Dematic with around 90,000 container storage locations, which enables space-saving, multi-deep storage.
Experts will be on hand to provide information not only about the implemented solutions, but also about the integration of SAP and other current projects. The event also offers the opportunity to network and exchange ideas. The Customer Day will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. During this time, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the intralogistics system in real operation during a tour and see the benefits of the automation solution for themselves. Axel Pracht, Head of Central Distribution Center EU, will also provide detailed insights into project development, implementation and the KPIs achieved to date. He will also report on other projects in the EMEA region and present various solutions, while also answering any questions.
Discussing the future of intralogistics
"The manufacturing industry is characterized by short production times, strict delivery deadlines and minimal error tolerances. Our successful collaboration with Ceratizit shows that companies are ideally equipped to meet these challenges with our automation solutions and can significantly increase their efficiency," reports Rainer Schmid, Senior Director Sales at Dematic, adding: "The Customer Day offers a unique opportunity to present these advances and to discuss the future of intralogistics at the same time."
Dematic designed the seven-aisle multishuttle warehouse with around 90,000 bin locations for Ceratizit several years ago and tailored it specifically to its requirements. The system enables multi-deep storage and is operated by a total of 217 shuttles, which automatically access the totes and transport them to high-performance picking stations. Thanks to the high level of automation, the system guarantees error-free picking and reliable order processing, even at a high throughput rate of up to 570 containers per hour.
The system and the entire material flow are controlled using SAP EWM software, which is also specially tailored to Ceratizit's requirements. "At the events, our software experts will also be presenting our entire SAP solution portfolio and our comprehensive know-how, which we have proven in numerous projects worldwide," says Schmid. Visitors will also receive information on Dematic's extensive service portfolio, which enables even more efficient plant management.
During the breaks, visitors will have the opportunity to clarify individual questions and network with other guests.
