Up to 1,400 pallets in motion at the touch of a button

For customers all over the world, the name JAB Anstoetz stands for high-quality textile creations that are constantly setting new trends with their imaginative designs. The coordinated home fabrics include not only a huge range of fantastically beautiful decorative fabrics and upholstery fabrics, but also roller blinds, pleated blinds and panel blinds for efficient sun protection. Carpets, rugs and designer floor coverings are available as a stylish counterpart to the range of fabrics. The range is completed by carefully handcrafted upholstered furniture and a small but fine collection of curtain rods and wallpaper.

JAB Anstoetz uses various system solutions from the Arnsberg-based storage technology expert to store its designer floor coverings and fabrics. "We are very satisfied with the storage systems from META," explains Jens Buchholz, Operations Manager at JAB. "The long-standing partnership and the support provided by the responsible office and field staff has been excellent right from the start."

Mobile racking increases storage space

In the storage area for the high-quality designer floor coverings, a Multibloc mobile racking system with seven carriages and an electric motor drive has been installed as the centerpiece of the buffer warehouse, which has been equipped with the Multipal S pallet racking system for storing up to 1,400 pallets in total. Thanks to this dynamic storage variant, it is possible to increase storage capacity by up to 110 percent in the same space compared to a permanently installed racking system. This means maximum space utilization with simultaneous access to every storage location. The desired aisle can also be opened from the forklift by remote control. Another special feature of this system is the special rails at the end of the trolleys, so that the escape route required at JAB can still be used without restriction.

Store fast-moving items in stationary pallet racking

In addition to the picking stations, stationary pallet racks from the Multipal S system have been installed to store the fast-moving stock. In both storage variants, continuous grating shelves are used in the pallet racks so that non-standard sized pallets weighing up to one ton can also be stored. This continuous special solution enables flexible storage and the easy storage of special pallets. The impact protection on each row of racking prevents damage from transport equipment and ensures the durability of the racking.

Special solution for the storage of high-quality materials

Another important area at JAB is the storage and tailoring of a wide variety of fabrics. JAB constantly has 3,000 different articles in a total of 20,000 colors in stock in Bielefeld and offers cutting and a comprehensive sewing service. To store and provide these high-quality fabrics, so-called cleat racks are used, in which the fabric rolls can be stored clearly. These are several META Clip shelving units positioned one behind the other. Thanks to the flexible application and conversion options of this plug-in system, the shelving can be optimally adapted to almost any type of stored goods and, if necessary, the storage capacity can be increased quickly and easily.
