A classic warehouse management system forms the core of every warehouse: it is responsible for controlling many processes and provides an overview of available products. Modern warehouse management systems such as the KDL WOS offer users of radio-controlled warehouses even more: with the help of precise data, they provide
They forecast upcoming processes. This "workload forecast" is based on the statistically determined time required for upcoming tasks such as pallet transports in relation to the resources used (e.g. number of forklifts). In future, KDL will even go one step further: the aim of the upcoming innovation is to enable the KDL WOS to intervene independently in the workflow. With the help of internal analyses of the pending activities, it recognizes in which area a very high workload is pending. In order to relieve this area, it can redistribute resources within the warehouse using preconfigured profiles. In this way, the KDL software effectively supports the optimization of work processes by acting according to the situation.
