With its transport solution leogistics digital supply chain (d.s.c.), the software specialist leogistics aims to combine transport planning, collaboration, transport execution, tracking & tracing and internal logistics processes in a single platform.
The software solution complements the standard SAP SCM portfolio and supports the entire, seamless management of both internal and external transport processes across all modes of transport. "The digitalization of logistics and the resulting requirements are affecting all manufacturing companies and their logistics service providers. Despite this immense relevance, many have not progressed beyond the status of a roughly detailed concept. This is not due to a lack of will, but often to the fact that there is a lack of practical approaches and ideas as to what can be digitized in logistics and how this can be implemented in a meaningful way," says André Käber, CEO of leogistics GmbH.
Real-time tracking and IoT
With leogistics d.s.c, the company aims to offer process, application and technology expertise: The solution developed on SAP technology covers both planning and executive transport processes and uses new technologies to map the requirements of efficient real-time tracking. It enables transparency and efficiency, as it integrates all upstream and downstream SAP systems, relevant process participants and IT and system environments without media discontinuity. In addition, digitalization strategies such as IoT or cloud solutions can be linked to existing systems. In addition, leogistics uses non-SAP software for the integration of IoT scenarios. "Our customers are currently seeing more and more hybrid architectures in which SAP functions are combined with non-SAP functions in a meaningful way. This creates real digital supply chains," explains Käber. Preconfigured processes for plant, site, rail and port logistics are already integrated into leogistics d.s.c.. Together with customers, leogistics also implements individual industry and mode of transport-specific logistics solutions.
