Knapp System Integration: KiSoft Genomix

1st place in category 5: Logistics software: KiSoft Genomix is a modular overall package that enables transparent data capture of articles. All attributes of articles that are relevant in an automated environment at the level of individual robots are automatically recorded and digitized.

All attributes that cannot be determined by a human are therefore available for automated handling. This automation data is available centrally for the entire supply chain. Thanks to the automated collection in digital form and an additional check of this information, the data is available in high quality. In addition, self-learning algorithms continuously improve the quality. The target group for KiSoft Genomix is automated distribution centers. The better the quality of master data and the more attributes are available for automation, the more efficient and error-free the technologies in an automated warehouse environment will be. The KHT MultiScan is a measuring device with automatic dimension and weight recognition and provides the dimensions, volume and weight of items in just a few seconds at the touch of a button. This process is supported by the KiSoft Genomix app. It guides users simply and intuitively through a questionnaire that collects all relevant article attributes. The software registers all item hierarchies: from the individual item to the packaging unit to the logistical unit. This means that KiSoft Genomix can be used across all solutions - whether for omnichannel, e-commerce or store delivery. The Ivii-Iriis vision system performs a quality check during the process and determines whether the data recorded in the system actually matches the item. The system records each item and adjusts the automated handling automatically. If an item is repacked from a carton to a tray, for example, the automation master data changes. Only by transmitting this changed data via the recognition system can a robot downstream in the process adapt the handling accordingly. All data is collected on a local KiSoft Genomix server. Together with the information from the measuring systems, this is the only source of information where high-quality data is stored for all downstream processes. The individual servers synchronize with a cloud, which ensures data transmission for the entire network. All in all, this results in a unique, new overall solution: KiSoft Genomix - consisting of the KiSoft Genomix app, server and cloud. The automated recording, digitization, checking and maintenance of attributes eliminates subjective misjudgements. On the one hand, this goes hand in hand with increased attribute quality. On the other hand, the lengthy and cost-intensive process of manual, error-prone collection is optimized. Thanks to the high-quality automation data, the technologies work better, which optimizes the performance and efficiency of the entire automation solution and process chain. Handling damage is reduced, as are the transportation costs incurred. As there is not yet a comparable solution on the market, Knapp has applied for a patent for KiSoft Genomix. In future, KiSoft Genomix will learn via the cloud and thus prevent errors. This means that if an error occurs in one distribution center, it will be communicated to all other distribution centers in the network, preventing it from occurring again. In addition, KiSoft Genomix provides a knowledge bridge between manufacturers, buyers and warehouse managers, resulting in improved processes along the entire supply chain.
