Inventory sampling manager for significantly less effort in SAP EWM

For companies that use SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) for warehouse management and control, the software manufacturer Inform now offers the inventory sampling manager, an add-in specially developed for SAP EWM for the guided connection of inventory sampling.

This enables them to significantly simplify the stocktaking process and reduce the counting effort by up to 99 percent. The intuitive interface solution is based on standard modules from SAP EWM.

The inventory sampling manager bundles all transactions associated with the physical inventory, from customizing and the settings required in advance to the actual physical inventory in SAP EWM. The module creates an inventory plan that includes the individual necessary transactions. Via the Inventory Sampling Manager, Inform offers a cloud-based version of its established Invent Expert solution as a plug & play module in SAP, which more than 750 companies already use to carry out their annual inventory using the sampling method, in which only a small proportion of items need to be counted manually. Algorithms then extrapolate the result and achieve more reliable results than the error-prone full inventory could.
New: inventory sampling possible at handling unit (HU) level

For warehouses managed purely on the basis of SAP handling units (HU), the inventory sampling manager now also offers the handling unit (HU) counting element as an extension to the standard inventory document in SAP EWM, in addition to stocktaking based on storage bin and product numbers. By using inventory sampling on an HU basis, companies can further reduce the counting effort and save costs. Especially when used in automated warehouse areas, companies benefit significantly from HU-based inventory sampling.
The new solution is a release-capable standard development with SAP EWM modules that can be used in all EWM versions and is already being used by four pilot customers. The add-in can be used with low implementation capacities of the company's internal SAP IT department. All work steps required for the inventory in SAP EWM are bundled in a single inventory plan and displayed on a clear user interface. The transparent documentation of the inventory sampling manager provides an overview of all previous inventory plans, including logging and document archive.

SAP S4/HANA migration made easy
As part of the upcoming migration to SAP S4/HANA - we are discussing the end of support for SAP Business Suite 7 until 2027 - companies are faced with the challenge of migrating from the SAP logistics modules they have been using to date, such as SAP Materials Management (MM) or SAP Warehouse Management (WM), to SAP EWM. With the Inventory Sampling Manager, they are able to connect SAP EWM to the INVENT XPERT inventory sampling system. This ensures efficient and sustainable stocktaking. In addition, the solution structures the user's workflow so that the process, which usually only takes place once a year, always functions smoothly. This means that SAP users can continue to work safely with inventory sampling even after switching to the new Extended Warehouse Management from SAP.
