Inconso: More transparency for internal transportation
With the introduction of an SAP-based software application for internal transportation processing, Krones AG is increasing inventory and movement transparency. This is made possible by a newly developed software solution from the logistics software specialist inconso, the Transport Control System inconsoS/TCS. The software solution keeps track of all transportation and goods movements - from goods receipt to the warehouse, through individual production stages to shipping. This enables Krones to seamlessly record all material and load carriers at a cross-divisional and cross-location level. Krones has been using inconsoS/TCS at its headquarters in Neutraubling since 2016. The inconso add-on, which is fully integrated into SAP, records both single and multi-level transports by forklift or tugger train, as well as cross-hall transports by truck. The impulses sent to inconsoS/TCS in Neutraubling are provided by SAP MM (Material Management), SAP LE-WM and the fully automatically controlled small parts warehouse, in which more than 7,000 order items are handled daily with a capacity of over 25,000 tray storage locations. Krones AG is also focusing on further optimization measures: Since the official commissioning of its own rail siding at the beginning of 2016, machine and line parts have been rolling directly from the plant in Neutraubling by rail to the Port of Hamburg, where they are shipped. Preparations for the use of inconsoS/TCS are also currently in full swing at the Hamburg hub and other selected locations.
