Despite the coronavirus crisis, Wecovi invests in Prolag World from CIM

Wecovi, a manufacturer of cleaning products, guest kits and inventory products, is continuing to drive digitalization in its warehouse during the coronavirus crisis. In future, the company will therefore be relying on Prolag World. The warehouse management system from CIM GmbH will control the existing warehouse, a newly built warehouse and the entire production process.

Wecovi's headquarters, logistics center and production facility are located in Zwolle, the Netherlands. "Due to our strong growth in the past and our planned expansion, we have added a warehouse to our current location in Zwolle," explains Hans-Paul Visscher, Managing Director of Wecovi. As part of this, the scanning application that Wecovi currently uses in the warehouse will be replaced by a warehouse management system. Connected to the existing ERP system, Prolag World will take over the entire warehouse and production management in future.

Although the coronavirus crisis has not left Wecovi unscathed, the company is now recording full order books again. This is also due to the broad product range and the increased sales figures for the "Wecoline" cleaning products. "Especially in this particular situation, we are glad that we chose CIM, as we can rely on a team with over 35 years of market experience," says Visscher. Wecovi also believes that it is ideally equipped for the challenges of the future thanks to the sophisticated production control system and the flexible Prolag World warehouse management system.

In addition to basic WMS functions such as storage using GTIN or GS1 labels, stock transfer, automatic replenishment or process-optimized retrieval, CIM also supplies its production system and the PROSEND® shipping system. Both are already fully integrated into the software standard. In addition, picking will in future be controlled by CIM's own Prolag Go picking control system.

The contact with CIM came via Jeroen van den Berg from Jeroen van den Berg Consulting. The company is one of the leading logistics consultancies in the Benelux countries. "We stand for practical and process-oriented consulting," says Jeroen van den Berg. This is why CIM was recommended, as the company stands for long-term and close customer relationships. This is demonstrated by the fact that, in addition to its German locations, CIM has an independent branch and its own team in The Hague to support customers and interested parties in the Benelux countries.

"This overall package of standardized yet flexible functions and the company philosophy itself convinced us," says Wecovi Managing Director Visscher. The Prolag World warehouse management software standard has a modular structure so that Wecovi can book the functions that the company currently needs. If the company continues to grow or requirements change, new functions can be added during operation. "Our system is therefore extremely flexible and makes our customers fit for the moment and the future," says Maarten Janssen, Logistics Consultant at CIM, looking ahead.
