The two IT companies AEB SE and Shipsta S.à r.l are combining their software to offer shipping companies end-to-end support in freight cost management. This enables them to digitize their processes from transport tendering and purchasing to freight cost calculation for operational shipments and the checking, approval and account assignment of incoming freight invoices.

The procure-to-pay offering from AEB and Shipsta combines the products of two cloud software companies: Shipsta has established itself as the platform of choice for digital freight procurement. Founded in 2019, the company's customers already include a number of chemical, pharmaceutical and automotive companies. AEB Software supports the global trade and logistics processes of more than 5,500 companies in 80 countries.

AEB SE's software automates the calculation of freight costs, the control of freight invoices and the allocation of expenses to cost centers. It is based on the shipment data from the shipping or ERP system and the rates agreed with freight forwarders and CEP services. The integration of the AEB software with Shipsta's digital sourcing and procurement platform ensures a smooth data basis with regard to these agreed rates and concluded spot contracts.

The AEB software calculates the costs for processing specific shipments in order to charge them to customers, for example. In addition, the data is available in various evaluations after goods issue - as are costs from spot purchases. This gives companies transparency about their actual freight expenditure at all times. In this way, cost drivers can be identified and countermeasures taken.

Fully automated invoice control

Based on the calculated freight costs for a shipment or for agreed spot contracts, the AEB software also automates the checking of incoming freight invoices and reconciles any differences. The individual items on the invoice can also be automatically assigned to the correct cost center according to existing business rules. This allows the data to be forwarded directly to financial accounting.

Shipsta's freight procurement platform automates the entire tendering process. The creation of requests for quotations, the comparison of offers and the decision can be made with just a few clicks. Shipsta's customizable algorithm analyzes quotes from hundreds of carriers to identify the optimal provider or combination of providers to meet each shipper's specific needs.
