Martin Schrüfer,

"Recognition is the first step towards improvement"

"I take courage from the fact that we have finally seen and discussed over the last two years that not everything is always perfect in Germany either. After all, as we all know, knowledge is the first step towards improvement. Countries such as Italy and Spain have shown during the crisis that they are ahead of us in terms of digitalization. This will motivate us and the new government to tackle things even more consistently and move our society forward. I am also encouraged by positive signals from our customers. In a survey of 190 logistics managers, we found that 92% of participants recognized AI as a competitive advantage. In five years' time, they see those who invest in it today as being ahead. On the other hand, 62 percent have no time for such projects. Perhaps because they are still emerging from the crisis? But we now know which technologies will make them more resilient!

The first quarter may be difficult, but the economy will recover afterwards. After all, the US and EU economic and infrastructure programs are only just getting underway and will bear fruit after some time.

The survey was published in materialfluss WELT DER INTRALOGISTIK (December 2021, first part) and materialfluss 1-2/22 (second part).
