Maximum flexibility was the guiding principle in the development of the new CTS guard locking system from Euchner. The result is a compact safety switch with a high locking force that enables universal use thanks to its extended communication options via IO-Link and a new design for different installation positions and mounting options. The new flex function of the CTS enables a wide range of applications with just one device; this opens up new perspectives for planning and operation.

All doors remain closed

The dimensions of 135 x 31 x 31 millimetres, combined with a maximum locking force of 3,900 newtons, make the CTS attractive for many areas of application. Whether for swing or sliding doors or for the smallest door radii - thanks to the three different mounting directions of the switch and the floating universal actuator, the CTS can be used almost anywhere. An extendable escape release with push mechanism can also be retrofitted at any time. Even though it is small and compact, the switch ensures maximum safety. Based on proven transponder technology, the CTS achieves category 4/PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and meets all the requirements of EN ISO 14119.

Versatile applications with just one device

The actual innovation is not in the switch, but in the transponder-coded actuator. The function of the switch is determined by the choice of the appropriate actuator. Euchner calls this patented concept "Flex-Function". This means that the customer activates exactly the functionality they need on their CTS device with the appropriate actuator. This has advantages:

With the same basic device, the user can switch between process protection and personnel protection guard locking and select a high or low coding level depending on requirements.

When the actuator is first taught-in, the switch is configured and receives its function. If the requirement changes during the life cycle or the switch is installed at a different location, it is parameterized accordingly for its new task. All that is required is a new actuator. Flex-Function thus makes the CTS safety switch future-proof for retrofitting and conversion measures and brings additional benefits in the form of reduced warehousing and leaner procurement processes.

The CTS can be used for individual operation, series connection or connection to the higher-level control level. The connection cable with plug connector or open cable end offers the right version for every application. In combination with an IO-Link gateway, the CTS is also communication-capable for Industry 4.0 applications that enable comprehensive diagnostics.
