Premiere: The new safety gate from Efaflex

Efaflex now has a high-speed door in its portfolio that meets the requirements of resistance class 4 and can withstand an attack by skilled criminals with heavy tools from the outside over a longer period of time. The EFA-SST-Secure model is part of the Efaprotect series, which specializes in highly burglar-resistant door systems.

Whether valuable works of art in museums, monetary values or the physical integrity of people: The new high-speed door from Efaflex secures everything that is worth protecting or requires special protection due to a hazardous situation. It is a new development from the innovation-driven company. New components had to be developed to meet the increased safety requirements, such as a new door leaf slat, hinge chain and rollers. When the door reaches the closed position, it is automatically locked and can then no longer be opened from the outside, even with a great deal of force. The EFA-SST-Secure can withstand a maximum opening force of 10,000 newtons and is designed to withstand an attack from outside where the perpetrators use brute force.

A door for sophisticated security concepts

The maximum speed when opening is 1.0 m/s and 0.6 m/s when closing. "In safety-relevant areas, the speed of the door when opening and closing plays a major role. Every second is important there," says project manager Klaus Manlig. "With the maximum speeds that the new door achieves, it is ideal for use in these sensitive zones." The EFA-SST-Secure is designed for approx. 250,000 load cycles per year. The safety gate is manufactured according to customer specifications. Klaus Manlig emphasizes another advantage of the door: "The EFA-SST-Secure can be used to meet the strict requirements of security concepts: A unique offering that is only available from Efaflex. We are delighted that, after almost three years of development, we can offer our customers an exclusive high-speed door that has this certification."

In 2016, Efaflex began developing highly burglar-resistant door systems in the Efaprotect series. This series is the result of over 40 years of experience in the market. The portfolio already includes several high-speed doors certified to DIN EN 1627, resistance class 2.
