High-speed doors
Continuous runners ensure constant movement of goods
The nine EFA-SST-L Premium high-speed spiral doors in the halls of Lisa Mai Getränke GmbH & Co. KG in Bayreuth open and close between 150 and 200 times a day. That's at least 50,000 opening cycles per year.
A real permanent load," explains Alexander Porsch, Operations Manager of the new logistics center. "That's why, together with the planners, we opted for precisely these doors from door specialist Efaflex." Everything should run smoothly, because a long-planned project has been a reality since the beginning of 2018: Lisa Mai Getränke GmbH & Co. KG has started operations in Bayreuth. The specialist beverage wholesalers Lippert from Hof, Sagasser, based in Coburg, and the brewery Gebrüder Maisel in Bayreuth have joined forces to form this new specialist beverage wholesaler. A long-planned project that unites the companies of the three friendly partners in the new, conveniently located premises in the Bayreuth logistics park. The business partners have invested 4.7 million euros in the new building.
Reliability prevents downtime
In a business that meticulously supplies customers with beverages and a range of food and drink, the logistical processes must be well planned. The critical points here are the entrances and exits from the halls and the company premises, which must be reliably accessible at all times. "We can't have a standstill here with constant goods traffic, we wouldn't be able to deliver on time," explains Alexander Porsch. "That's why we opted for the robust and reliable doors from Efaflex. We were already familiar with the doors from their use in other companies. We know about the high functionality of the products and the satisfaction of the respective operators." At the Maisel Bros. brewery, too, two high-speed folding doors have been providing consistent and reliable service for over 20 years, says Alexander Porsch. The doors ensure pleasant working temperatures and well-tempered drinks.
Newly designed doors
For the Efaflex engineers, however, developing doors that work reliably for a long time is only one aspect of the environmental compatibility of their products. For this reason, they have completely redesigned high-speed spiral doors for hall closures. This includes improving the physical properties and optimizing the functionality. The new door leaf for Efaflex industrial doors is robust, durable and heat- and sound-insulating.
Frost-free storage
The manufacturer also offers thermally separated EFA-Therm insulating slats as standard for the EFA-SST. Due to the door size and number of ISO vision panels, the U-value of the doors at Lisa Mai Getränke GmbH & Co. KG is 2.3 W/m² K. This property is intended to ensure frost-free storage of beverages and a pleasant working temperature. Depending on the desired incidence of light and the location of the door, Efaflex customers can determine the number of EFA-Clear transparent slats required for their EFA-SST. In addition to the standard RAL 9002 white aluminum coating, the slats and the steel parts of the door can be painted in almost any color from the RAL system on request. They are supplied in standard sizes up to 10,000 mm wide and 8,000 mm high. The microprocessor control unit is installed together with the integrated frequency converter in a separate plastic control cabinet, protection class IP 65. Connection to the mains supply is possible for 230 V/50 - 60 Hz (for large door systems also for 400 V). The scope of delivery includes a TÜV-approved door line light curtain that operates at the door closing level. The safety system of the Efaflex doors is integrated into the side frames for protection and generates a dense light grid of infrared beams up to a height of 2.5 meters. Obstacles are detected without contact and the automatic closing movement of the doors is stopped.
