rPE - label material made from 100% recycled PE (and TiO2)
In cooperation with the companies Herma and Polifilm, Schäfer Etiketten has developed a PE adhesive label that consists of 50% post-consumer and 50% post-industrial waste. On closer inspection, the white film contains small specks that are created during the recycling process. However, these give the material an authentic character.
The labels can be printed using standard printing processes (screen, flexo, offset and digital printing as well as hot foil stamping). Potential areas of application include the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. By using recycled PE, especially from post-consumer waste, this product consistently implements the circular economy approach.
