Three-person team to lead BVL in future
As of April 1, a three-person team consisting of Dr. Christian Grotemeier, Mike J. Holtkamp and Christoph Meyer will form the management of the non-profit Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL) e.V., the BVL Campus and BVL Service GmbH.
Dr. Christian Grotemeier joined BVL in 2014 as Head of Research and Events. In 2018, the doctor of economics became a member of the management board and took over the management of the newly founded BVL.digital GmbH, which is now being integrated into BVL. As Managing Director of BVL e.V., he will focus on the areas of marketing/sales, product development, seminars, digitalization and IT.
Mike J. Holtkamp joined the BVL office as Commercial Director on February 15. The business economist (BA) and qualified industrial clerk most recently worked as Commercial Manager, Finance & Controlling, IT and Human Resources at Fuchs Wisura GmbH in Bremen. He succeeds the long-standing Managing Director Uwe Peters, who will be leaving BVL at his own request in the middle of the year. In addition to finance and human resources, Holtkamp is also responsible for event organization and purchasing.
Christoph Meyer has been Head of Research and Events at BVL since 2018 and has already been Project Manager of the German Logistics Congress in recent years. The graduate regional scientist came from Jacobs University, where he was coordinator of the International Logistics department. On the management board, Meyer is responsible for content, the German Foreign Trade and Transport Academy and the association's relationship management.
Prof. Thomas Wimmer, who stepped down from management in March 2020 following his election as Chairman of the BVL Executive Board, has overall responsibility in his role on the Executive Board and will continue to be responsible for press and public relations, committee contacts and the MX Award, German Logistics Award and Die Wirtschaftsmacher projects.
Together with Uwe Peters, the commercial director, the two have formed the core team of BVL's full-time management team since 2004. Following Wimmer's election to the top of the Executive Board, Uwe Peters became the sole Managing Director for a transitional period. At the time, it was already clear that he would be leaving BVL at his own request in mid-2021.
