New appointments to management positions
Schmitz Cargobull reorganizes Supervisory Board
As part of the planned generational change, the trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull announced the reorganization of the Supervisory Board at the Annual General Meeting on September 24.
With the expiry of their mandates, Supervisory Board Chairman Professor Dr. Jürgen Kluge and Supervisory Board members Wolfgang Fritsch-Albert, Peter Schmitz and Dietrich Zaps completed their terms of office.
Ms. Astrid Hamker, Dr. Detlev Ruland, Professor Dr. Harald Ludanek and Dr. Hans Moormann were appointed as shareholder representatives on the Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG.
The new Supervisory Board is now made up of the following shareholder representatives:
Astrid Hamker, brings many years of management experience as a managing partner in the medium-sized Piepenbrock Group to her Supervisory Board mandate. She is also a member of the advisory and supervisory boards of other companies, such as Drägerwerk AG, and has been President of the German Economic Council since June 2019.
Dr. Hans Moormann, is Managing Partner and Chairman of the Management Board of the Jöst Group in Dülmen.
Professor Dr. Harald Ludanek, was responsible for Technical Development at various brands in the Volkswagen Group from 1992 to 2017. From 2012 to the beginning of 2016, he was Board Member for Research and Technical Development at truck manufacturer Scania in Sweden and most recently Board Member for Development at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. He has been a member of the Innovation Circle at Schmitz Cargobull AG since 2018.
Dr. Detlev Ruland has been a member of the KUBIKx Digital Advisory Board since 2018. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Board of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern and Saarbrücken. Other professional positions include McKinsey & Company, Inc. and RWE AG, where he was Group Chief Information Officer before holding the positions of Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Deutsche Post AG until 2018.
Dirk Hoffmann, a member of the Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG since 2013, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board. After completing his training at Schmitz Cargobull, he worked for many years in a senior sales role. In 1995, he and his wife founded EWT Truck & Trailer Handels GmbH, the importer for Schmitz Cargobull in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Robin J Stalker, Chartered Accountant, worked for the accounting firm Arthur Young (now EY) in New Zealand and London in various finance and controlling positions in the entertainment industry in Asia and the United States before being appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of adidas AG. He is on the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG and has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Schmitz Cargobull AG since 2017.
Employee representatives elected in August
The regular election of employee representatives to the Supervisory Board took place at the end of August. Yvonne Seggewiß, Works Council member at the Schmitz Cargobull plant in Vreden, and Hans-Joachim Hebing from IG-Metall left the Supervisory Board at their own request. Manuel Terhürne, Works Council at the Vreden plant, and Pietro Bazzoli, IG Metall, were elected as their successors.
