James Wilson soon to retire
New CEO and CCO at Palletways
Palletways Group Limited, an operating company of Imperial Logistics, has announced that current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James Wilson will step down from his position as CEO effective July 1 of this year and take a planned retirement.
At the same time, Luis Zubialde, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Palletways and with the company since 2006, will assume the role of CEO. Wilson will continue to act in an advisory capacity for both Palletways and the International Division of Imperial Logistics. Hakan Bicil, CEO of Imperial Logistics International, said: "We would like to thank James Wilson for his many years of service and commitment and for the pioneering work he has done for the Palletways Group. We wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement. I look forward to being able to draw on his extensive knowledge and experience in the future."
Also with effect from July 1 of this year, Michael Sterk was appointed to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Palletways Group. Sterk has been working for Imperial Logistics since 2009, most recently as Head of the Retail & Consumer Goods Business Unit. He will report to Luis Zubialde, CEO of Palletways, as well as to Sandro Knecht, Chief Commercial Officer of Imperial Logistics International. The new management of the Palletways Group will therefore consist of the following persons: Luis Zubialde (CEO), Richard Myatt (continuing as Chief Financial Officer), Thomas Olsson (continuing as Chief Information Officer) and Michael Sterk (CCO). Palletways operates the largest pallet network in Europe with over 400 depots in 24 countries, delivering up to 40,000 pallets a day.
