Persons: Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Award presented to Gudrun Litzenberger

Gudrun Litzenberger was honored with the Joseph F. Engelberger Robotics Award. She was honored by the jury with the world's most important industry prize in the "Leadership" category for her services to robotics. As head of the IFR Statistics Department, Litzenberger has further developed the World Robotics Statistics and has been an advocate for a better understanding of the global robotics market for more than a decade and a half.

"Gudrun Litzenberger's outstanding commitment has established the International Federation of Robotics as the premier source of global robotics statistics at a time when interest in robotics is growing exponentially," said Jeff Burnstein, president of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA).

In 2003, Litzenberger took over responsibility for the World Robotics Statistics and has been producing the annual "IFR World Robotics Report" since 2005. This is now regarded as the most important source for global robot statistics and covers market-relevant activities of industrial and service robots.
