Dieter Alber began his professional career in 1972 at an international logistics company in Stuttgart. He later moved to the Diehl forwarding company in Esslingen. There he initially played a leading role in setting up the network in Scandinavia and took over the role of International Managing Director in 1975. In recognition of his successes, he was appointed Managing Director in 1994. Dieter Alber was also involved in the forwarding association Speditionsverband BaWü, as well as in "Fortras", its successor organization System Alliance and the Stuttgart Maritime Discussion Group.

Dieter Alber played a key role in the establishment of the forwarding partnership between Diehl and Gebrüder Weiss in 1999. "From 2012, Dieter Alber also made a decisive contribution to the successful integration of the Esslingen site into the Gebrüder Weiss network," says Jochen Gonser, Branch Manager at Gebrüder Weiss in Esslingen. He thanks his deputy for his commitment and the trusting cooperation over the past decades.
