Focus in the "International Network" area
Dr. Carsten Hinne completes duisport Management Board
Dr. Carsten Hinne has been a new member of the duisport Group's Executive Board since 1 January 2022. The 46-year-old comes from Deutsche Bahn, where he spent 20 years in various roles, most recently as Senior Vice President of DB Cargo AG. At duisport, he will be primarily responsible for the "International Network" division. Dr. Carsten Hinne thus completes the Executive Board of Duisburger Hafen AG around the Chairman Markus Bangen and Prof. Thomas Schlipköther.
"I am very pleased to welcome Dr. Carsten Hinne, an extremely competent and internationally experienced colleague, to the world's largest inland port. The duisport Executive Board is now complete again. We will act as a united team both internally and externally and tackle the future issues of the duisport Group together," says Markus Bangen.
Dr. Carsten Hinne: "I have already met many committed and highly motivated colleagues and look forward to working with my colleagues on the Executive Board. I am convinced that top and best performance can only ever be achieved as a team if we pool our expertise and know-how."
"From now on, we will make all important decisions for the duisport Group together and thus exemplify a real cultural change. This is another reason why we made the conscious decision to step down from the management boards of the subsidiaries in order to leave responsibility to our colleagues who already manage the operational business," adds Prof. Thomas Schlipköther.
Last autumn, duisport CEO Markus Bangen announced a "clear focus on innovation, sustainability and digitalization" as part of the future strategy and restructured key areas of the company. "The course has been set: By completing the Executive Board, we can now pick up speed and focus on the further development of our home base in Duisburg on the one hand, without neglecting the expansion of our international network on the other," said Bangen.
While Dr. Carsten Hinne will primarily be responsible for the International Network, Superstructure, Human Resources and Purchasing divisions within Duisburger Hafen AG, Markus Bangen will be responsible for Infrastructure, Finance, Strategy and Digital Transformation, Investments and M&A as well as Legal. Prof. Thomas Schlipköther will continue to be primarily responsible for Construction, Technology and Operations as well as Facility Management and Port and Rail Operations.
