Change in the DSLV legal department
At the beginning of this year, Björn Karaus took over as head of the DSLV's Forwarding and Transport Law / Insurance department in the legal department of the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV).
He succeeds Hubert Valder, who will retire in May of this year after 32 years with the association. Karaus has been working for the DSLV since July 2018. He previously worked for the German Insurance Association (GDV), including five years as a consultant for transport and aviation insurance. He also worked for ten years as a lawyer and specialist lawyer for transport and forwarding law in various law firms.
As the umbrella organization, the DSLV represents the forwarding and logistics sector as well as the transport industry across all modes of transport. With its 16 regional associations, it represents around 3,000 companies with 585,000 employees.
