Editorial: Doing good
Fortunately, companies that pay attention to the health of their employees are in the majority in this country. Do them, the employees, good and talk about it: Agreed, that's probably part of it in these times of courting the best skilled workers or those still on the market. But you shouldn't overdo it, otherwise it quickly becomes strange.
At the time of going to press at the end of January, we received a report from a Swabian valve manufacturer stating that the company's CEO had decided not to allow any more employees to fly to China due to the coronavirus. "The health of our employees is more important than economic aspects," the press release quotes the good man. In my opinion, however, sending self-evident facts to the media as a press release misses the point a little.
On the other hand, I think it's great that some intralogistics experts are now supporting an association like Waisenhaus Kalkfeld e.V. as a matter of course - the help for the orphanage north of Windhoek, Namibia, is growing and bearing more and more fruit. Information and many photos can be found on the website www.waisenhaus-kalkfeld.de.
Back to everyday life: At the turn of the year, we made an adjustment to the content of materialfluss. The logistics service provider section, which has been part of the intralogistics trade magazine's program for around 20 years, is now called "Logistics - powered by LT-manager". On the one hand, this reflects the broader focus, which in future will also extend to logistics outside of warehouses. On the other hand, materialfluss makes use of the almost ten years of expertise of its sister magazine LT-manager in this broad field, and topics are coordinated jointly.
Cordial and silent greetings,
Martin Schrüfer, Editor-in-Chief
